Coming Home…

Paleo Central

PaleoWorks Central

I dropped my youngest at the park for pre-season football training this morning – under 12s.  He’s very happy and up for it.  In fact, I discovered he’d slept in his kit last night!  Tucked away in a dark corner of the park I saw a very large woman, wearing black (anonymous) working out with a very tiny personal trainer.  Slowly the woman huffed one way up the pitch for ten metres, turned and lumbered back.  The woman kept running.  And then this thought hit me.  Of the Herculean effort this activity required and of the immediate hunger consequences this can cause.  On returning home, would the food choices made in that moment serve her ultimate goal?  How would will power help in this moment when the physical discomfort hit?  My instinct cut in, thoughts around personal choice surfaced and I found myself in battle with myself not to high tail it across the park and share our Paleo knowledge.  I wanted to explain how ‘PaleoWorks’, the benefits of a primal diet, the 80/20 rule, all the good stuff M and I have learned about insulin about curbing cravings and about the futility of relying on will power how eat less and exercise more will never work.  But the moment passed as I stood there.  I caught her eye and nodded encouragement.  She looked away! I told M when I got home.  He said we had to trust that the Paleo/Primal message was clear and that those who wanted to hear it would find us.

About Paleo Works

Paleo Works Have you ever wondered how you arrived at “being overweight” and thought how difficult it is to get rid of and keep off those excess pounds? Hi, I’m Katie and together with Mike my husband, we are Paleo Works. As a busy working mum of four, I often watched others embark on weight loss progammes only to return to their start weight (and then some) shortly after reaching their target. Why was this happening? Conventional dietary wisdom would have us believe that it’s YOU who has failed. But Mike and I thought different. We felt that there had to be something wrong with that conventional dietary wisdom after all we can’t all be hopeless? So we studied intensely, sought out advice and read avidly. We questioned robustly and talked with many on various 'dieting' regimes. What we found was radical, our story has to be told, our knowledge has to be shared. So If you are ready to stop blaming your self for being overweight and ready to change your approach to weight loss then contact us and let’s get started!
